Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture & Microneedling

Rejuvenate Your Skin From the Inside Out with Acupuncture

Unlike other facial treatments and surgeries, facial rejuvenation acupuncture is rooted in the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This makes it a highly effective, natural, and safe method for reducing the signs of fatigue, stress, and aging of the skin and underlying soft tissues of the face, neck, and head. TCM is founded on the belief that the body contains channels that carry life energy, or Qi, throughout the organs and body. The rejuvenation of the outside appearance of your skin is, therefore, deeply connected to what’s happening underneath it. Facial acupuncture improves the flow of energy through the entire body and brings it into harmony making skin healthier and more youthful.

How Does Facial Acupuncture Work?

In Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory beauty comes from within. When you start to age in a way that looks and feels unhealthy then it is possible the flow of Qi, Blood, and Essence are not balance within your body. When balance is restored, you will feel and look more radiant. On a physiological level, acupuncture has been shown to increase circulation of blood and life energy throughout the body. Increased blood flow can help us to maintain healthy skin and muscle tone by sending nourishment, moisture, and "lifting" energy to the skin and muscles of the face. By increasing lymph flow using my facial tui na massage and combined with acupuncture I can help strengthen the immune system; our skin is an essential part of our immune system. The needles inserted into the face affect collagen and elastin production which will help tone the skin. Collagen is a protein produced by our bodies that is responsible for our skin's durability and resilience. Elastin is responsible for the elasticity of our skin. Sun exposure and aging degrade and decrease the production of our collagen and elastin. Acupuncture helps to stimulate the body's natural processes of cell reproduction and growth. Needles are placed in the muscle motor points to re-educate the muscles back to their original placement, thus the face looks more sculpted, more youthful and lifted. Cosmetic Acupuncture is also known as facial acupuncture and facial rejuvenation acupucture.

What's the Difference Between Facial Acupuncture & Microneedling?

While both modalities work by producing painless micro-traumas to the skin to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, they are quite different in their delivery. Unlike acupuncture, which requires that needles stay inserted in one area for an extended period of time, microneedling involves the application of tiny, super-fast pinpricks to the skin across your whole face using the AcuLiftTM MicroPen. These microchannels created by the MicroPen also allow for quick absorption of skin-nourishing serums and essential oils to accelerate results.

What Should I Expect with a Microneedling Treatment?

The treatment begins with some grounding and tonifying body points, and a topical anesthetic will be applied to the face to provide light numbing. That’s followed by a physician-formulated, organic, vegan serum that’s prepared for your skin’s individual needs. The AcuLiftTM MicroPen will then create controlled microchannels to stimulate the body’s natural healing response.

After the treatment, your skin may appear pink or slightly red, similar to a mild sunburn, for the next 12 to 24 hours. You will receive aftercare recommendations to accelerate your recovery and results. Results are sometimes apparent after one treatment and will improve over a series of 3 to 6 monthly treatments. You’ll continue to see improvements for several months after your last treatment and results can last up to 5 years!

Why Not Just Get Botox?

There's a handful of reasons why facial rejuvination acupuncuter and microneedling are a better alternative to Botox. Here are a few:

  • Botox cannot treat wrinkles due to aging or sun exposure or reduce the fine lines (only works on dynamic wrinkles – smile lines, frown lines)
  • Risk of paralysis of surrounding muscles & upper eyelid droop
  • Only temporary results. The more you get, the more you need to achieve same effect
  • Cost is at least $600.00 every 3-4 months!
  • May not be able to raise eyebrows and have other expressions
  • Long term effects of botox are still unknown
